1. Cook the Cavatelli
In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook the cavatelli pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
2. Prepare the Sauce
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the semi-dried tomatoes and sauté for 2-3 minutes until they are slightly softened.
3. Combine Ingredients
Stir in the pesto sauce and heavy cream into the skillet with the tomatoes. Cook for another 3-4 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly.
4. Mix in Pasta
Add the cooked cavatelli to the skillet and toss well to coat the pasta with the creamy pesto sauce. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
5. Serve
Plate the creamy pesto cavatelli and crumble ricotta salata on top. Garnish with fresh basil leaves before serving.
