Method

Prepare the Fries

  1. 1

    Cook the Fries

Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot. Fry the frozen French fries according to package instructions until golden and crispy. Drain on paper towels and set aside.

Prepare the Carne Asada

  1. 2

    Marinate the Steak

In a bowl, mix olive oil, lime juice, garlic powder, cumin, salt, and black pepper. Add the flank steak and marinate for at least 30 minutes.

  2. 3

    Cook the Steak

Grill or pan-sear the marinated steak over medium-high heat for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until desired doneness. Let it rest for 5 minutes, then slice thinly.

Make the Guajillo Cheese Sauce

  1. 4

    Prepare the Peppers

Remove stems and seeds from guajillo peppers. Soak them in hot water for about 15 minutes until softened, then drain.

  2. 5

    Blend the Sauce

In a blender, combine soaked guajillo peppers, cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, milk, garlic powder, and salt. Blend until smooth and creamy.

Assemble the Dish

  1. 6

    Layer the Ingredients

On a large serving platter, layer the crispy fries, followed by sliced carne asada, then drizzle with guajillo cheese sauce. Top with guacamole, pico de gallo, roasted jalapeños, and garnish with cilantro.
