Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare Brussels Sprouts

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Trim the ends off the Brussels sprouts and cut them in half.

  2. 2

    Cook Bacon

In a large skillet, cook the applewood smoked bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove from the skillet, crumble, and set aside.

  3. 3

    Caramelize Brussels Sprouts

In the same skillet, add olive oil and Brussels sprouts, cut side down. Season with salt and pepper. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until browned. Transfer to a baking sheet and roast in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes until tender.

  4. 4

    Make Salted Caramel Sauce

In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in brown sugar and cook until dissolved. Slowly add heavy cream while stirring continuously. Bring to a boil and let it simmer for about 5 minutes. Stir in sea salt.

  5. 5

    Prepare Apples and Pecans

While the Brussels sprouts are roasting, chop the green apples into thin slices. In a separate pan, toast the pecans over medium heat until fragrant.

  6. 6

    Assemble Dish

Once the Brussels sprouts are done, remove them from the oven. Drizzle with the homemade salted caramel, top with crumbled bacon, apple slices, and toasted pecans.

  7. 7

    Serve

Serve warm as a delicious side dish or appetizer, drizzled with extra caramel sauce if desired.
