Fried Chicken
Method
Cooking Instructions
- 1
Marinate the Chicken
In a large bowl, pour the buttermilk over the chicken pieces. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight for best results.
- 2
Prepare the Flour Mixture
In another bowl, combine the flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Mix well.
- 3
Coat the Chicken
Remove the chicken from the buttermilk, letting the excess drip off. Dredge each piece in the flour mixture until fully coated. Shake off any excess flour.
- 4
Heat the Oil
In a large skillet or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 5
Fry the Chicken
Carefully add the chicken pieces to the hot oil, frying in batches if necessary. Fry for about 12-15 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through, reaching an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).
