Burger Patty

Bacon Jam

Method

Prepare the Bacon Jam

  1. 1

    Cook the Bacon

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon until crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels, reserving some bacon fat in the pan.

  2. 2

    Sauté the Onion

In the same skillet, add the chopped onion and cook until translucent and soft.

  3. 3

    Combine Ingredients

Add the cooked bacon back to the skillet along with brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, and black pepper. Stir to combine.

  4. 4

    Simmer

Let the mixture simmer over low heat for about 20 minutes until thick and jam-like. Remove from heat and cool.

Cook the Burger Patty

  1. 5

    Form the Patties

In a bowl, mix ground beef with salt and black pepper. Form into two equal patties.

  2. 6

    Cook the Patties

Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until desired doneness.

  3. 7

    Add Cheese

In the last minute of cooking, place cheddar cheese slices on top of the patties and cover until melted.

Assemble the Burger

  1. 8

    Prepare the Buns

Toast the burger buns lightly on the grill or in a toaster.

  2. 9

    Build the Burger

On the bottom bun, place the burger patty with melted cheddar, top it with a generous spoonful of bacon jam, and drizzle with block sauce. Cap with the top bun.
