Method

Prepare the Burger Patties

  1. 1

    Season the Beef

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently until the spices are evenly distributed.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the seasoned beef mixture into two equal portions and form each portion into a patty, making sure they are slightly larger than the burger buns as they will shrink while cooking.

Cook the Bacon

  1. 3

    Fry the Bacon

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon strips until they are crispy, about 5-7 minutes, turning occasionally to ensure even cooking. Once cooked, transfer the bacon to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess fat.

Cook the Burger Patties

  1. 4

    Grill the Patties

In the same skillet (or on a grill), cook the burger patties over medium-high heat for about 3-4 minutes on each side for medium doneness. If using cheese, place a slice on each patty during the last minute of cooking to melt.

Assemble the Burger

  1. 5

    Toast the Buns

If desired, toast the burger buns in the skillet or on the grill until golden brown.

  2. 6

    Layer the Ingredients

On the bottom half of each bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by the cooked burger patty, crispy bacon, and tomato slices. Add ketchup and mustard to taste, then cover with the top half of the bun.
