Meatballs

Method

Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Meatballs

In a large bowl, combine ground pork, ground beef, bread crumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined. Form mixture into 1.5-inch meatballs.

  2. 2

    Cook the Meatballs

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add meatballs and cook until browned on all sides, about 8-10 minutes. Remove from skillet and set aside.

  3. 3

    Make the Tomato Sauce

In the same skillet, add olive oil and chopped onion. Sauté until onion is translucent. Add minced garlic and cook for an additional minute. Stir in crushed tomatoes, oregano, basil, salt, black pepper, and sugar. Bring to a simmer.

  4. 4

    Combine Meatballs and Sauce

Return meatballs to the skillet. Cover and simmer for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  5. 5

    Cook the Spaghetti

In a large pot, bring water to a boil. Add salt and spaghetti. Cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

  6. 6

    Serve

Serve the meatballs and sauce over the spaghetti. Sprinkle with additional Parmesan cheese if desired.
