Stuffed Jalapeños

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Jalapeños

Cut the tops off the fresh jalapeños and carefully remove the seeds and membranes to reduce their heat.

  2. 2

    Stuff the Jalapeños

In a bowl, mix the pimento cheese and bacon marmalade together. Stuff each jalapeño with the mixture until filled.

  3. 3

    Set Up Breading Station

Set up three bowls: one with all-purpose flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with breadcrumbs mixed with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.

  4. 4

    Bread the Jalapeños

Dip each stuffed jalapeño first into the flour, then into the egg, and finally coat with breadcrumbs.

  5. 5

    Heat the Oil

In a large pot or deep fryer, heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

  6. 6

    Fry the Jalapeños

Carefully place the breaded jalapeños into the hot oil in batches, frying for about 3-4 minutes or until golden brown. Remove and drain on paper towels.

  7. 7

    Prepare the Buttermilk Sauce

In a small bowl, mix buttermilk with a pinch of salt and pepper to taste for the dipping sauce.

  8. 8

    Serve

Arrange the fried jalapeño bull horns on a plate and serve with the buttermilk sauce on the side.
