Method
Preparing the Milanesa
Prepare the Beef
Pound the beef cutlets to an even thickness of about 1/4 inch using a meat mallet or rolling pin.
Bread the Beef
Dredge each cutlet in flour, shaking off excess, then dip into the beaten eggs, and finally coat with breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere.
Fry the Cutlets
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Fry the breaded cutlets for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown. Remove and drain on paper towels.
Adding the Topping
Assemble the Topping
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Place the fried cutlets on a baking sheet. Top each cutlet with tomato sauce, a slice of ham, and sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top.
Bake
Bake in the preheated oven for about 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Remove from oven and garnish with fresh basil.
Preparing the Mixed Salad
Prepare Salad Ingredients
Wash and dry the mixed salad greens. Halve the cherry tomatoes and slice the cucumber.
Mix the Salad
In a large bowl, combine salad greens, cherry tomatoes, and cucumber. Drizzle with olive oil and balsamic vinegar, then season with salt and pepper to taste. Toss gently to combine.
Serving
Plate the Dish
Serve each Milanesa Napolitana hot alongside a generous portion of mixed salad.
