Asparagus Preparation

Method

Cooking Instructions

1

Prepare the Asparagus

Rinse the asparagus spears under cold water to remove any dirt or debris. Trim the tough ends of the asparagus by about 1-2 inches, or until you reach the tender part of the stalk.

2

Set Up the Steamer

Fill a pot with about 1-2 inches of water and insert a steamer basket. Bring the water to a boil over medium-high heat.

3

Steam the Asparagus

Once the water is boiling, carefully place the asparagus spears in the steamer basket. Cover the pot with a lid and steam for 4-6 minutes, or until the asparagus is bright green and tender but still crisp.

4

Season the Asparagus

Remove the steamer basket from the pot and transfer the asparagus to a serving dish. Drizzle with olive oil, then sprinkle with salt and black pepper to taste.

5

Serve

Serve the steamed asparagus hot, garnished with lemon wedges on the side for an extra burst of flavor.
