Method

Preparing the Shrimp

  1. 1

    Boil the Shrimp

In a large pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Add the sliced lemon, Old Bay seasoning, and salt. Stir to combine.

  2. 2

    Cook the Shrimp

Once the water is boiling, add the large shrimp. Cook for 2-3 minutes, or until the shrimp turn pink and opaque. Do not overcook.

  3. 3

    Ice Bath

Remove the pot from heat, and transfer the shrimp to a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process. Let them sit in the ice bath for 2-3 minutes.

  4. 4

    Drain

Drain the shrimp and pat dry using paper towels. Set aside.

Making the Cocktail Sauce

  1. 5

    Combine Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of ketchup, 2 tablespoons of horseradish, 1 tablespoon of lemon juice, and 1 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce.

  2. 6

    Mix Well

Stir all ingredients together until well combined. Adjust the flavor with Tabasco sauce to taste, depending on how spicy you want it.

Serving

  1. 7

    Plate the Shrimp

Arrange the cooked shrimp on a serving platter.

  2. 8

    Serve with Sauce

Serve the shrimp alongside the cocktail sauce for dipping.
