Salmon Preparation

Season the Salmon
Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt and black pepper.

Heat the Pan
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until it shimmers.

Cook the Salmon
Place the salmon fillets skin-side down in the skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes until the skin is crispy and the salmon is cooked halfway up the sides.

Flip the Salmon
Carefully flip the salmon fillets and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes for medium doneness. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

Add Broth and Soy Sauce
Pour in the chicken or vegetable broth and soy sauce, stirring to combine. Bring to a simmer.

Thicken the Sauce
In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch and water to create a slurry. Slowly add the slurry to the sauce, stirring constantly until thickened, about 2-3 minutes.

Finish the Sauce
Stir in the chopped parsley and remove from heat.
