Chicken Marinade

Pan Gravy

Mashed Potatoes

Method

Chicken Marinade

  1. 1

    Marinate the Chicken

In a large bowl, combine buttermilk, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Whisk until well mixed. Add the chicken breasts to the marinade and ensure they are fully submerged. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight.

Cooking Chicken and Making Gravy

  1. 2

    Cook the Chicken

Remove chicken from the marinade and allow excess to drip off. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Add the chicken breasts and cook for 6-7 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from skillet and keep warm.

  2. 3

    Prepare the Gravy

In the same skillet, add remaining butter and melt over medium heat. Whisk in flour and cook for 1 minute until golden. Gradually add chicken broth while continuously whisking to prevent lumps. Bring to a simmer and let it thicken for about 3-5 minutes. Season with salt and black pepper.

Mashed Potatoes

  1. 4

    Prepare the Potatoes

Peel and chop the potatoes into uniform pieces. Place them in a large pot of salted water and bring to a boil. Cook for about 15-20 minutes or until tender. Drain and return to the pot.

  2. 5

    Mash and Season

Add butter, milk, salt, and black pepper to the drained potatoes. Mash until desired consistency is reached. Adjust seasoning to taste.

Chef's Vegetables

  1. 6

    Sauté the Vegetables

In a separate pan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the mixed vegetables, salt, and black pepper. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes or until vegetables are tender yet crisp.
