Method
Preparing the Chicken Wings
- 1
Season the Wings
In a large bowl, combine the chicken wings, salt, black pepper, and vegetable oil. Toss until the wings are evenly coated.
- 2
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and place a wire rack on top.
- 3
Bake the Wings
Arrange the seasoned chicken wings in a single layer on the wire rack. Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, turning halfway through, until the wings are crispy and golden brown.
Making the Buffalo Sauce
- 4
Melt the Butter
In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter.
- 5
Combine the Sauce Ingredients
Once the butter is melted, remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the hot sauce, garlic powder, white vinegar, and cayenne pepper until well combined.
Preparing the Blue Cheese Dressing
- 6
Mix the Ingredients
In a medium bowl, combine the blue cheese, sour cream, mayonnaise, lemon juice, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until smooth, leaving some small chunks of blue cheese for texture.
- 7
Chill the Dressing
Cover the dressing and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
Combining and Serving
- 8
Toss the Wings in Sauce
Once the wings are baked, transfer them to a large bowl and pour the buffalo sauce over the wings. Toss until all wings are evenly coated in sauce.
- 9
Serve
Serve the buffalo wings hot with the blue cheese dressing on the side for dipping.
