Preparing the Bread
- 1
Slice the Baguette
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Slice the baguette diagonally into 1/2 inch thick slices.
- 2
Toast the Bread
Place the slices on a baking sheet. Brush both sides lightly with olive oil. Bake in the preheated oven for 5-7 minutes, or until golden and crispy.
Preparing the Topping
- 3
Chop the Tomatoes
While the bread is toasting, dice the ripe tomatoes into small pieces and place them in a mixing bowl.
- 4
Prepare the Garlic
Mince the garlic cloves and add them to the bowl with the tomatoes.
- 5
Add Basil and Seasoning
Chop the fresh basil leaves and add them to the mixture. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Mix everything gently to combine.
Assembling the Bruschetta
- 6
Top the Toast
Once the bread is toasted, remove it from the oven and let it cool for a minute. Spoon the tomato mixture generously onto each slice of toasted bread.
- 7
Serve
Arrange the bruschetta on a serving platter and serve immediately while the bread is still warm.
