Tiramisu Ingredients
Method
Tiramisu Directions
- 1
Prepare the Coffee
Brew the espresso coffee and let it cool down to room temperature. If using, mix in the coffee liqueur.
- 2
Make the Cream Mixture
In a large bowl, whisk the egg yolks and sugar together until pale and creamy. Add the mascarpone cheese and vanilla extract, and beat until smooth.
- 3
Whip the Cream
In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until well combined.
- 4
Assemble the Tiramisu
Quickly dip each ladyfinger in the cooled espresso, making sure they are soaked but not soggy. Layer half of the soaked ladyfingers in the bottom of a rectangular dish. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers.
- 5
Repeat Layers
Repeat the process with the remaining ladyfingers and mascarpone mixture, finishing with a layer of the cream on top.
- 6
Chill and Serve
Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight. Before serving, dust the top with cocoa powder.
