Miso Glazed Sea Bass and Broccolini with Sticky Rice

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Sticky Rice

Rinse the sticky rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Soak the rice in water for at least 30 minutes, then drain. In a pot, combine the soaked rice with 1.5 cups of water. Bring to a boil, then reduce to low heat, cover, and cook for about 15 minutes or until the water is absorbed. Remove from heat and let it sit covered for another 10 minutes.

  2. 2

    Make the Miso Glaze

In a small bowl, whisk together the white miso paste, mirin, soy sauce, honey, and sesame oil until smooth.

  3. 3

    Marinate the Sea Bass

Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Place the sea bass fillets in a baking dish and brush both sides generously with the miso glaze. Let them marinate while you prepare the broccolini.

  4. 4

    Cook the Broccolini

In a wok or large skillet, heat a tablespoon of oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant. Add the broccolini and stir-fry for about 4-5 minutes until tender-crisp. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  5. 5

    Bake the Sea Bass

Place the marinated sea bass in the preheated oven and bake for about 12-15 minutes, or until the fish flakes easily with a fork.

  6. 6

    Serve

Fluff the sticky rice with a fork and plate it alongside the miso-glazed sea bass and sautéed broccolini. Sprinkle sesame seeds on top for garnish.
