Method
Preparation of Base
- 1
Prepare the Sugar Syrup
In a medium saucepan, combine the water and granulated sugar over medium heat. Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved. Remove from heat and let it cool.
- 2
Add Lemon Juice
Once the sugar syrup has cooled down, stir in the fresh lemon juice. This will add brightness to your sorbet.
Flavoring the Sorbet
- 3
Incorporate Fruit Puree
Choose your desired fruit flavor and blend the fresh fruit until you have a smooth puree. You can strain it if you want a smoother texture.
- 4
Mix Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooled sugar syrup mixture with the fruit puree. Stir until thoroughly mixed.
Freezing Process
- 5
Chill the Mixture
Pour the combined mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions. If you do not have an ice cream maker, pour the mixture into a shallow dish.
- 6
Freeze the Sorbet
If using an ice cream maker, transfer the churned sorbet to an airtight container and freeze for at least 2 hours. If using a shallow dish, place it in the freezer and stir every 30 minutes until the sorbet is firm (about 2-3 hours).
