Biscuit Directions
- 1
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).
- 2
Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar until well combined.
- 3
Cut in the Butter
Cut the cold butter into small pieces and add it to the flour mixture. Use a pastry cutter or your fingers to work the butter into the flour until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- 4
Add Milk
Pour in the milk and stir gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
- 5
Shape the Dough
Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead it gently a few times until it comes together. Roll or pat the dough to about 1-inch thick.
- 6
Cut Biscuits
Use a biscuit cutter or a glass to cut out rounds of dough. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- 7
Bake
Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown.
- 8
Cool and Serve
Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving warm.
