Cocktail

Method

Cocktail

  1. 1

    Combine base ingredients

Add 2 oz vodka, 3 oz pineapple juice, 0.5 oz fresh lime juice and 0.5 tbsp simple syrup into a cocktail shaker.

  2. 2

    Add ice and shake

Fill the shaker with crushed or cubed ice (about 1 cup). Secure the lid and shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds until well chilled and slightly frothy from the pineapple.

  3. 3

    Strain into glass

Fill a highball or Collins glass with fresh ice. Double-strain (or fine-strain if you prefer) the shaken mixture into the prepared glass to remove small ice shards and pulp.

  4. 4

    Top and finish

Top the drink with approximately 2 oz club soda (adjust to taste) to give effervescence. If using, add 1 dash Angostura bitters on top for aroma.

Garnish & Serve

  1. 5

Garnish the glass with a pineapple wedge and a lime wheel on the rim. Optionally, gently express a lime wedge over the top before dropping it in to add a bright citrus aroma.

  2. 6

Serve immediately with a straw or stirrer so the drink can be adjusted by the guest. Enjoy chilled.
