Method

Preparation Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Fruit Filling

In a large bowl, combine the sliced strawberries and chopped rhubarb. Add 1/2 cup of sugar and mix well. Let it sit for 15 minutes to allow the juices to release.

  2. 2

    Make the Cobbler Batter

In another bowl, whisk together the flour, remaining 1/2 cup of sugar, baking powder, and salt. Stir in the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract until just combined.

  3. 3

    Assemble the Cobbler

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Pour the fruit mixture into a greased 9-inch baking dish. Spoon the batter evenly over the fruit.

  4. 4

    Bake the Cobbler

Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

  5. 5

    Serve

Let the cobbler cool slightly before serving. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream on top.
