Preparation and Assembly
- 1
Prepare Crab Imperial
In a bowl, mix crab meat, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, Old Bay seasoning, green onions, beaten egg, and breadcrumbs until well combined. Spread the mixture evenly in a greased baking dish.
- 2
Bake Crab Imperial
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the crab imperial for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown on top.
- 3
Prepare Corn Relish
In a separate bowl, combine corn, diced red bell pepper, minced jalapeño, lime juice, and chopped cilantro. Mix well and set aside.
- 4
Prepare Pita Bread
While the crab imperial is baking, warm the pita bread in a wood oven or alternatively in a dry skillet until soft and warm.
- 5
Assemble Crab Pita
Once the crab imperial is done, spoon a portion of it onto each warm pita bread. Top with corn relish, shredded cheddar jack cheese, and sprinkle with Old Bay seasoning.
