Baking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Oven and Pan

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined.

  3. 3

    Combine Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, beat the eggs and then mix in milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract.

  4. 4

    Combine Mixtures

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.

  5. 5

    Add Dried Apricots

Gently fold in chopped dried apricots into the batter.

  6. 6

    Bake the Cake

Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

  7. 7

    Cool the Cake

Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

  8. 8

    Prepare Chocolate Sauce

While the cake is cooling, prepare your favorite chocolate sauce for drizzling over the cake.

  9. 9

    Serve with Whipped Cream

Slice the cooled cake and serve with whipped cream and drizzle chocolate sauce on top.
