Making Biscuits

Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).

Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

Cut in Butter
Add the cold, cubed butter to the flour mixture and use a pastry cutter or your fingers to cut it in until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

Add Buttermilk
Pour in the buttermilk and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.

Shape Biscuits
Turn the dough onto a floured surface and gently pat it to about 1-inch thick. Use a biscuit cutter to cut out biscuits.

Place the biscuits on a baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
Making Sausage Gravy

Cook Sausage
In a large skillet over medium heat, crumble and cook the sausage until browned.

Sprinkle the flour over the cooked sausage and stir well to combine. Cook for 1-2 minutes.

Gradually whisk in the milk, and cook until the gravy thickens, about 5-7 minutes.
