Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Beef

In a skillet over medium heat, add olive oil and sauté the minced garlic until fragrant. Add the ground beef, salt, and black pepper. Cook until the beef is browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat and set aside.

  2. 2

    Mix the Ricotta

In a bowl, combine ricotta cheese, fresh basil, and half of the grated parmesan cheese. Mix well and set aside.

  3. 3

    Assemble the Lasagna

Preheat the wood-fired oven to about 400°F (200°C). In a baking dish, spread a thin layer of marinara sauce on the bottom. Layer 3 sheets of fresh pasta, then half of the ricotta mixture, half of the beef mixture, and one cup of marinara sauce. Repeat with another layer of pasta, the remaining ricotta, the remaining beef, and another cup of marinara. Top with the remaining pasta sheets and cover with the remaining marinara sauce. Finally, sprinkle mozzarella cheese and the rest of the parmesan cheese on top.

  4. 4

    Bake the Lasagna

Place the assembled lasagna in the preheated wood-fired oven. Bake for about 25-30 minutes, until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown. Let it cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
