Ingredients for Red Velvet Cheesecake

Method

Directions for Making Red Velvet Cheesecake

  1. 1

    Prepare the Cheesecake Filling

In a large mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese and granulated sugar until smooth. Add the sour cream, eggs, and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.

  2. 2

    Mix the Cake Batter

In another bowl, combine the red velvet cake mix, cocoa powder, melted butter, and water. Mix until smooth and well combined.

  3. 3

    Combine the Mixtures

Carefully fold the cheesecake filling into the red velvet cake batter until just combined.

  4. 4

    Bake the Cheesecake

Preheat the oven to 325°F (160°C). Pour the combined mixture into a greased springform pan. Bake for 60-70 minutes or until the center is set, but slightly jiggly.

  5. 5

    Cool and Chill

Once baked, turn off the oven and let the cheesecake cool in the oven with the door slightly ajar for about 1 hour. Then refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.

  6. 6

    Prepare the Whipped Cream

In a mixing bowl, beat the heavy cream and powdered sugar until soft peaks form. Spread over the chilled cheesecake.

  7. 7

    Garnish and Serve

Finish with red sprinkles on top for decoration. Slice and serve chilled.
