Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Pork Chops

Season the pork chops with salt and black pepper. Preheat your smoker to 225°F (107°C). Smoke the pork chops for about 1 hour, or until they reach an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).

  2. 2

    Make the Marsala Wine Sauce

In a skillet over medium heat, add olive oil and butter. Sauté the chopped onion and minced garlic until translucent. Add the sliced portobello mushrooms and cook until they are tender. Pour in the Marsala wine and simmer for 10 minutes until the sauce reduces.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Asparagus

While the sauce simmers, steam or blanch the asparagus for about 5 minutes until bright green and tender-crisp. Season with salt and set aside.

  4. 4

    Serve the Dish

Plate the smoked pork chops with a generous amount of Marsala wine sauce poured over the top. Serve alongside the mashed potatoes and steamed asparagus.
