Calzone Preparation Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Dough
Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface into a large circle about ¼ inch thick.
- 2
Fill the Calzone
On one half of the dough, layer the cooked and crumbled sausage, cooked pancetta, and shredded mozzarella cheese. Sprinkle with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.
- 3
Seal the Calzone
Fold the other half of the dough over the filled half and pinch the edges to seal tightly. You can use a fork to crimp the edges for added security.
- 4
Brush and Cut
Transfer the calzone to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush the top with olive oil and make a few small slits on the top to allow steam to escape.
- 5
Bake
Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
- 6
Serve
Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before slicing. Serve with warm marinara sauce on the side.
