Pan-Seared Tuna

Method

Preparation Steps

  1. 1

    Prepare the Polenta

In a saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Gradually whisk in the polenta, stirring constantly. Reduce heat and cook for about 20-25 minutes until thickened. Stir in salt and set aside.

  2. 2

    Pan-Seared Tuna

Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Season the tuna steaks with salt and black pepper. Sear the tuna for about 2-3 minutes on each side for medium-rare. Remove from heat and let rest.

  3. 3

    Prepare Strawberry Caprese Salad

Slice the strawberries and mozzarella. In a bowl, layer the strawberries, mozzarella, and fresh basil leaves. Drizzle with aged balsamic vinegar and a bit of olive oil.

  4. 4

    Plating

On a plate, spoon a portion of soft polenta, place the seared tuna on top, and serve with the strawberry caprese salad on the side. Drizzle with additional balsamic and olive oil if desired.
