Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Chicken

Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper, then cook in a skillet over medium heat until golden brown on both sides, about 6-7 minutes per side. Remove from heat and set aside.

  2. 2

    Cook the Bacon

In the same skillet, add the bacon slices and cook until crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels. Once cooled, crumble the bacon.

  3. 3

    Sauté the Mushrooms

In the remaining bacon fat, add the chopped domestic mushrooms and sauté until tender and browned, about 5-6 minutes. Season with a pinch of salt and pepper.

  4. 4

    Make the Bechamel Sauce

In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes until lightly golden. Gradually whisk in the milk, stirring continuously until the sauce thickens. Season with salt, black pepper, and a pinch of nutmeg.

  5. 5

    Assemble the Dish

In a baking dish, layer the cooked chicken breasts, sautéed mushrooms, crumbled bacon, and slices of fresh mozzarella. Pour the bechamel sauce over the top, covering everything evenly.

  6. 6

    Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
