Method
Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Meatballs
In a large bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined and form into meatballs about 1 inch in diameter.
- 2
Cook the Meatballs
In a large skillet over medium heat, add olive oil. Once hot, add the meatballs and cook until browned on all sides. Remove from skillet and set aside.
- 3
Make the Marinara Sauce
In the same skillet, add more olive oil if needed, then sauté the chopped onion until translucent. Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute. Pour in the crushed tomatoes, oregano, dried basil, salt, and pepper. Simmer for about 10 minutes.
- 4
Combine Meatballs and Sauce
Add the browned meatballs back into the skillet with the marinara sauce. Simmer on low heat for an additional 15 minutes.
- 5
Cook the Linguine
While the meatballs are simmering, cook the linguine according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- 6
Serve
Toss the linguine with the marinara sauce and meatballs. Serve hot, garnished with fresh basil.
