Prepare Oysters
Rinse the shucked oysters under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.

Soak in Buttermilk
Place the oysters in a bowl and cover them with buttermilk. Let them soak for at least 30 minutes.

Heat the Oil
In a deep skillet or frying pan, heat the oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

Coat the Oysters
Remove the oysters from the buttermilk, allowing the excess to drip off. Dredge each oyster in the flour mixture until well coated.

Fry the Oysters
Carefully place the coated oysters in the hot oil, frying them in batches to avoid overcrowding. Fry for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown.

Drain and Serve
Remove the fried oysters from the oil and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil. Serve hot with lemon wedges.
