Main Ingredients

Optional Seasoning

Method

Preparation of Potatoes

  1. 1

    Peeling and Cutting

Peel the Russet potatoes and cut them into even sticks, about 1/4 inch thick.

  2. 2

    Soaking

Soak the cut potatoes in cold water for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch. This will help achieve a crispier fry.

Cooking Fries

  1. 3

    Heating Oil

In a large pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). You can use a thermometer to check the temperature.

  2. 4

    Frying Potatoes

Drain the soaked potatoes and pat them dry with a paper towel. Carefully add a batch of potatoes to the hot oil, being cautious of splatter. Fry for about 5-6 minutes until golden brown.

  3. 5

    Draining and Seasoning

Remove the fries from the oil using a slotted spoon and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil. Immediately sprinkle with sea salt and any optional seasonings as desired.

Serving

  1. 6

    Presentation

Serve the fries in a basket or on a platter while hot. Enjoy them as a side dish or snack!
