Prepare the Bread
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Slice the baguette diagonally into 1/2 inch thick slices.

Toast the Bread
Place the slices on a baking sheet and brush both sides with olive oil. Bake in the preheated oven for about 5-7 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.

Chop the Toppings
While the bread is toasting, dice the fresh tomatoes and finely chop the fresh basil leaves. Mince the garlic.

Mix the Topping
In a mixing bowl, combine the diced tomatoes, chopped basil, minced garlic, balsamic vinegar, salt, and black pepper. Stir well to combine all the ingredients.

Assemble the Bruschetta
Once the bread is toasted, remove it from the oven and let it cool slightly. Top each slice of toasted bread with the tomato mixture.

Arrange the bruschetta on a serving platter and drizzle with a little more olive oil if desired. Serve immediately.
