Method

Preparing the Crostini

  1. 1

    Slice the Baguette

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Slice the baguette into 1/2 inch thick slices.

  2. 2

    Brush with Olive Oil

Place the sliced baguette on a baking sheet. Brush each slice lightly with olive oil.

  3. 3

Season with Garlic, Salt, and Pepper

Peel and slice the garlic clove in half. Rub the cut side of the garlic on each slice of baguette. Sprinkle salt and black pepper on top.

  4. 4

    Toast in the Oven

Bake in the preheated oven for about 8-10 minutes, or until the crostini are golden brown and crispy.

Preparing the Topping

  1. 5

    Chop the Tomatoes and Basil

While the crostini are baking, wash and chop the cherry tomatoes into halves. Tear the fresh basil leaves into smaller pieces.

  2. 6

    Mix the Topping

In a mixing bowl, combine the chopped cherry tomatoes, torn basil, and crumbled feta cheese. Add the balsamic glaze and gently toss to combine.

  3. 7

    Toast the Pine Nuts

In a small skillet over medium heat, toast the pine nuts until they are golden brown, about 3-4 minutes. Stir frequently to avoid burning.

Assembling the Appetizer

  1. 8

    Top the Crostini

Once the crostini are done baking, remove them from the oven. Spoon the tomato and basil mixture onto each crostini.

  2. 9

    Garnish with Pine Nuts

Sprinkle the toasted pine nuts over the topped crostini for an added crunch.

  3. 10

    Serve Immediately

Arrange the crostini on a serving platter and serve immediately while they are warm and crispy.
