Churros

Method

Churros Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Dough

In a medium saucepan, combine water, butter, sugar, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat. Once boiling, remove from heat and stir in the flour until the mixture forms a ball.

  2. 2

    Add Eggs

Let the dough cool for a few minutes, then add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition until the dough is smooth and glossy.

  3. 3

    Heat the Oil

In a deep frying pan or pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 375°F (190°C).

  4. 4

    Pipe the Churros

Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a star tip. Pipe strips of dough (about 4-6 inches long) into the hot oil, being careful not to overcrowd the pan.

  5. 5

    Fry the Churros

Fry the churros for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until they are golden brown. Use a slotted spoon to remove them from the oil and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.

  6. 6

    Coat the Churros

In a shallow dish, combine the sugar and cinnamon. Roll the fried churros in the cinnamon sugar mixture until well coated.
