Method

Cooking the Steak

  1. 1

    Prepare and Cook the Steak

Season the Alberta striploin steaks with salt and pepper on both sides. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, melt 1 tablespoon of butter. Once hot, add the steaks and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness. Remove the steaks from the skillet and let rest.

Cooking the Bacon

  1. 2

    Cook the Bacon

In the same skillet, add the bacon slices and cook until crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Cooking the Eggs

  1. 3

    Fry the Eggs

Using the remaining bacon fat in the skillet, crack the eggs into the skillet and cook sunny side up for about 3-4 minutes until the whites are set but the yolks are still runny. Season with salt and pepper.

Preparing Sarladaise Potatoes

  1. 4

    Make Sarladaise Potatoes

Peel and slice the potatoes into thin rounds. In a separate pan, heat 1 tablespoon of butter. Add the sliced potatoes and sauté with minced garlic until golden and tender, about 15-20 minutes. Season with salt, pepper, and garnish with fresh parsley.

Plating

  1. 5

    Serve

On each plate, arrange a portion of the sautéed Sarladaise potatoes, top with a steak, add the crispy bacon, and finish with the sunny side up eggs. Garnish with additional parsley if desired.
