Panna Cotta Base

Method

Panna Cotta Preparation

  1. 1

    Bloom the Gelatin

In a small bowl, combine the gelatin powder with cold water. Stir gently and let it sit for about 5 minutes until it blooms.

  2. 2

    Heat the Cream Mixture

In a saucepan over medium heat, combine heavy cream, whole milk, and sugar. Stir until the sugar dissolves and the mixture is hot but not boiling.

  3. 3

    Add Gelatin

Remove the pan from the heat and add the bloomed gelatin and vanilla extract. Stir until the gelatin is fully dissolved.

  4. 4

    Pour into Molds

Divide the mixture into serving molds or cups. Allow to cool to room temperature.

  5. 5

    Chill

Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or until set.

Flavoring the Panna Cotta

  1. 6

    Add Flavor

Once the panna cotta is set, you can create a rotating selection by adding different flavored purees or toppings on top before serving.

  2. 7

    Serve

Gently run a knife around the edges of the molds and invert onto plates. Top with your choice of fruit puree, chocolate, or espresso.
