Cake Base

Method

Cake Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.

  3. 3

    Cream Butter and Sugar

In another bowl, cream the softened butter until smooth. Gradually add the sugar, beating until light and fluffy.

  4. 4

    Add Eggs and Vanilla

Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

  5. 5

    Combine Mixtures

Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, alternating with milk. Mix until just combined.

  6. 6

    Bake the Cake

Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.

  7. 7

    Cool the Cake

Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Frosting Preparation

  1. 8

    Make the Frosting

In a mixing bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar, then mix in heavy cream and vanilla until smooth and fluffy.

  2. 9

    Frost the Cake

Once the cakes are cool, place one layer on a serving platter. Spread frosting on top, then place the second layer on top and frost the top and sides.

Optional Assembly

  1. 10

    Add Fillings and Toppings

Decorate the cake with fresh fruits, chocolate shavings, and nuts as desired.
