Espresso Base

Milk and Flavorings (Optional)

Method

Brewing Espresso

  1. 1

    Prepare the Espresso

Begin by measuring 18 grams of espresso coffee grounds and place them into your espresso machine's portafilter. Tamp the grounds firmly and evenly before locking the portafilter into the machine.

  2. 2

    Brew the Espresso

Start the espresso machine and allow 60 ml of hot water to pass through the coffee grounds for about 25-30 seconds, yielding a rich and concentrated espresso shot.

Preparing Milk and Flavorings

  1. 3

    Steam the Milk

If you are adding milk, steam 200 ml of milk using the steam wand of your espresso machine until it reaches a velvety texture and temperature of about 65-70°C.

  2. 4

    Add Flavorings (Optional)

If desired, add 15 ml of vanilla syrup or 15 ml of caramel sauce to the steamed milk and stir gently. For a mocha variation, add 5 tsp of cocoa powder to the milk.

Assembling the Drink

  1. 5

    Combine Espresso and Milk

Pour the brewed espresso into a coffee cup. Gently pour the steamed milk over the espresso, creating a beautiful latte art effect. Top with additional cocoa powder or caramel sauce if desired.

  2. 6

    Serve

Serve immediately and enjoy your homemade espresso-based coffee!
