Method

Preparing the Batter

1

Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 cup of sugar, 2 tsp of baking powder, and 1 tsp of salt. Whisk together until well combined.

2

Mix Wet Ingredients

In a separate bowl, whisk together 1 cup of milk, 2 large eggs, and 1 tsp of vanilla extract until smooth.

3

Combine Mixtures

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; a few lumps are okay.

Cooking the Boulde Tap

4

Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare a baking dish or pan by greasing it lightly with butter or non-stick spray.

5

Bake the Batter

Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Preparing the Topping

6

Make the Topping

In a small saucepan, melt 4 tbsp of butter over medium heat. Stir in 1 cup of brown sugar and 1 tsp of cinnamon until well combined. If using, stir in 0.5 cup of chopped nuts.

7

Add Topping

Once the Boulde Tap is baked, remove it from the oven and pour the topping mixture over the hot batter. Spread it evenly with a spatula.

Finishing Touches

8

Cool and Serve

Allow the Boulde Tap to cool for about 10 minutes before slicing. Serve warm, optionally with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
