Wonton Filling
Method
Preparation and Cooking
- 1
Prepare the Filling
In a large bowl, combine ground pork, chopped shrimp, green onions, minced garlic, minced ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, cornstarch, and salt. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly combined.
- 2
Assemble the Wontons
Place a small spoonful of filling in the center of each wonton wrapper. Moisten the edges with water and fold the wrapper over to create a triangle, pressing to seal. Fold the two corners of the triangle towards each other to form a pouch, sealing the edges with water.
- 3
Steam the Wontons
Prepare a steamer basket lined with parchment paper. Arrange the wontons in a single layer in the steamer, making sure they are not touching. Steam over boiling water for about 8-10 minutes or until the filling is cooked through.
- 4
Serve
Remove the wontons from the steamer and serve hot with Szechuan dipping sauce.
