Method

Meatloaf Preparation

  1. 1

    Mix the Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, egg, milk, Worcestershire sauce, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix until just combined.

  2. 2

    Shape the Meatloaf

Transfer the mixture to a loaf pan and shape it into a loaf, smoothing the top.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Topping

Spread the ketchup evenly over the top of the meatloaf.

  4. 4

    Bake the Meatloaf

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the meatloaf for 1 hour or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).

Mashed Potatoes Preparation

  1. 5

    Cook the Potatoes

In a large pot, add the diced potatoes and cover with water. Bring to a boil and cook for about 15-20 minutes, or until tender.

  2. 6

    Mash the Potatoes

Drain the potatoes and return to the pot. Add butter, milk, salt, and pepper. Mash until smooth and creamy.

Gravy Preparation

  1. 7

    Make the Roux

In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Stir in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes until golden.

  2. 8

    Add Broth

Gradually whisk in the beef broth, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens. Season with salt and pepper.

Vegetable Preparation

  1. 9

    Prepare the Vegetables

In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add sliced carrots and green beans, seasoning with salt and pepper.

  2. 10

    Sauté the Vegetables

Cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until the vegetables are tender and slightly caramelized.
