Method

Preparation of Fish

  1. 1

    Prepare Beer Batter

In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, and black pepper. Gradually whisk in the beer until you have a smooth batter.

  2. 2

    Coat Fish

Dip each wild cod fillet into the beer batter, ensuring it is fully coated.

Frying Fish

  1. 3

    Heat Oil

In a deep frying pan, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  2. 4

    Fry Fish

Carefully place the battered cod fillets into the hot oil. Fry for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Preparation of Fries

  1. 5

    Cut Potatoes

Peel and cut the russet potatoes into thin strips for fries.

  2. 6

    Rinse and Dry

Rinse the cut potatoes in cold water to remove excess starch. Pat them dry with a kitchen towel.

Frying Fries

  1. 7

    Heat Oil

In a separate deep frying pan, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  2. 8

    Fry Fries

Carefully place the cut potatoes into the hot oil. Fry for about 5-7 minutes or until they are golden brown and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels, then sprinkle with salt.

Preparation of Coleslaw

  1. 9

    Mix Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the shredded cabbage, shredded carrots, mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, sugar, salt, and black pepper. Toss until well combined.

Serving

  1. 10

    Plate the Dish

Serve the crispy fish alongside the fries and a generous portion of coleslaw on the side.
