Method

Cooking the Pasta

  1. 1

    Boil the Pasta

In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add fettuccine pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes. Drain and set aside.

Preparing the Vegetables

  1. 2

    Sauté Vegetables

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add broccoli florets and sliced mushrooms. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes, or until vegetables are tender but still crisp.

Cooking the Protein (optional)

  1. 3

    Cook the Chicken

If adding chicken, cube the boneless chicken breast and season with salt and black pepper. In the same skillet as the vegetables, add the chicken and cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until fully cooked through. Remove from skillet and set aside.

  2. 4

    Cook the Shrimp

If adding shrimp, add peeled and deveined shrimp to the skillet after the vegetables are cooked. Sauté for 3-5 minutes, or until the shrimp are pink and opaque. Remove from skillet and set aside.

Combining Ingredients

  1. 5

    Mix Everything Together

In the same skillet, add the cooked fettuccine, sautéed vegetables, and your choice of sauce (Alfredo, pesto, or Cajun). Toss everything together over low heat for 2-3 minutes until heated through and well combined.

  2. 6

    Add Protein

If using, add the cooked chicken or shrimp to the pasta mixture and toss to combine. Adjust seasoning with additional salt and black pepper if needed.

Serving

  1. 7

    Plate the Dish

Serve the fettuccine hot, garnished with fresh herbs if desired. Enjoy your delicious homemade fettuccine!
