Method

Preparation of Salad Base

  1. 1

    Wash and Tear Romaine

Rinse the romaine lettuce under cold water to remove any dirt or grit. Tear the leaves into bite-sized pieces and place them in a large salad bowl.

Making Caesar Dressing

  1. 2

    Combine Dressing Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine the mayonnaise, lemon juice, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, anchovy paste, salt, black pepper, and grated Parmesan cheese. Whisk together until smooth and well-blended.

Preparing Croutons

  1. 3

    Make Croutons

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Cut the bread into small cubes. In a mixing bowl, toss the bread cubes with olive oil, garlic powder, and salt until evenly coated. Spread the bread cubes on a baking sheet and bake for about 10-15 minutes or until golden and crispy, stirring halfway through.

Assembling the Salad

  1. 4

    Combine and Serve

Once the croutons are ready, add the torn romaine lettuce to the bowl with the dressing. Toss well to coat the lettuce evenly. Top with the homemade croutons and additional grated Parmesan cheese if desired. Serve immediately.
