Cook the Pasta
Boil a large pot of salted water. Add the ziti pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes. Drain and set aside.
- 2
Prepare the Sauce
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Pour in the marinara sauce and stir to combine. Season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Let simmer for 5-10 minutes.
Assembly
- 3
Combine Pasta and Sauce
In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked ziti pasta with the marinara sauce mixture. Mix until the pasta is evenly coated.
- 4
Layer the Ingredients
In a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, spoon half of the pasta mixture into the bottom. Layer with half of the mozzarella cheese and half of the Parmesan cheese. Add the remaining pasta mixture on top, followed by the rest of the mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
Baking
- 5
Bake the Ziti
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for another 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- 6
Cool and Serve
Remove from the oven and let it cool for 5-10 minutes before serving. This allows the cheese to set and makes it easier to cut.
