Method

Crostini Preparation

  1. 1

    Slice the Baguette

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Slice the baguette into 1/2 inch thick slices.

  2. 2

    Brush with Olive Oil

Arrange the slices on a baking sheet and brush both sides lightly with olive oil. Sprinkle with salt.

  3. 3

    Bake the Crostini

Bake in the preheated oven for about 10-12 minutes, or until golden and crisp. Remove and let cool.

Salmon Tartar Preparation

  1. 4

    Prepare the Salmon

Using a sharp knife, finely dice the fresh salmon fillet into small cubes.

  2. 5

    Mix Ingredients

In a medium bowl, combine the diced salmon, lemon juice, capers, chopped dill, and finely chopped red onion. Season with black pepper to taste.

  3. 6

    Chill the Mixture

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for about 15-20 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

Assembly

  1. 7

    Top the Crostini

Once the crostini are cool and the salmon tartar has chilled, spoon a generous amount of the salmon mixture onto each crostini.

  2. 8

    Serve Immediately

Serve the salmon tartar crostini immediately, garnished with extra dill if desired.
