Method
Cured Meats Preparation
Arrange Cured Meats
On a large cutting board or platter, arrange the prosciutto, salami, and chorizo in a visually appealing manner. You can fold the slices or roll them for a nice presentation.
Cheeses Preparation
Cut and Arrange Cheeses
Cut the Brie into wedges, slice the cheddar into cubes, and crumble the Gorgonzola. Place these cheeses on the board next to the cured meats.
Pickles and Accompaniments Setup
Add Pickles and Accompaniments
Place the cornichons and olives in small bowls or directly on the board. Add a small dish of mustard for dipping.
House-made Bread Preparation
Make the Dough
In a large bowl, combine 500 grams of all-purpose flour, 7 grams of yeast, and 10 grams of salt. Gradually mix in 300 ml of water and 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Knead the dough for about 10 minutes until smooth.
First Rise
Cover the bowl with a damp cloth and let the dough rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
Shape the Loaf
After the first rise, punch down the dough and shape it into a loaf. Place the loaf on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
Second Rise
Cover the loaf with a damp cloth and let it rise for another 30 minutes.
Bake the Bread
Preheat your oven to 220°C (430°F). Bake the loaf for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown and hollow-sounding when tapped on the bottom.
Final Assembly
Assemble the Charcuterie Board
Once the bread has cooled, slice it and add it to the board. Arrange all the components: cured meats, cheeses, pickles, and bread. Serve with your favorite wine or beverage.
