Method
Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Chicken
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Season the chicken breasts with salt and black pepper on both sides.
- 2
Bread the Chicken
Set up a breading station: Place the all-purpose flour in one shallow dish, beat the eggs in another dish, and mix the breadcrumbs with grated Parmesan cheese in a third dish. Dip each chicken breast first into the flour, then into the beaten eggs, and finally coat thoroughly with the breadcrumb mixture.
Cooking
- 3
Cook the Chicken
Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add enough oil to cover the bottom (about 1/4 inch). Once the oil is hot, carefully add the breaded chicken breasts. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through. Transfer the chicken to a paper towel-lined plate to remove excess oil.
- 4
Assemble the Dish
In a baking dish, spread 1/2 cup of marinara sauce on the bottom. Place the cooked chicken breasts on top of the sauce. Spoon the remaining marinara sauce over the chicken, then sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese on top.
- 5
Bake
Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden. Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes.
- 6
Garnish and Serve
Garnish with fresh basil leaves before serving. Enjoy your Chicken Parmesan!
